Bellagio is situated at the fork of Lake Como (which is an upside-down Y shape), and it is very popular with tourists, being an ideal day-trip from Como. Its narrow lanes can easily be explored within a couple of hours, though if you want to visit any of the 5 villas around the village, you will of course need to allow longer.

From the port it's easy to cross over to Menaggio on the west side of the Lake, or Varenna on the east - Varenna supposedly being the most beautiful spot on the lake.
