"Igalo" Igalo by miman

Igalo Travel Guide: 7 reviews and 7 photos

Igalo is a town right next to Herceg-Novi and is accessible via the E65/E80 North headed to Dubrovnik, Croatia. According to the 2003 Census, it has a population of 3,754. Located on the slopes of Mount Orjen, Igalo is regionally famous for the Institut Igalo, a Meditterranean themed health spa which formerly attracted many tourists. Though the effects of the Yugoslav Wars limited Igalo's attractiveness as a tourist destination, it nonetheless remains a favourite for vacationers from the surrounding region.

Here one can find a good combination of mild Mediterranean climate, clean sea, therapeutic sea-mud, and mineral-water sources. Also there are a lot of sport grounds and complexes, more than 2 km of beaches, a very interesting Museum of Regional Studies.

Hotel "Igalo" beachIgalo encompasses the coast line from the Sutorina river to the Galeb restaurant. This is a bathing beach and a promenade at the same time. A part of the beach is sandy, and the other one is concrete what provides pleasant bathing. For those who like bathing beaches that are part of the hotel, Igalo is an excellent choice. There are many restaurants and cafes which lure with the smell of fish specialities, the sound of good music and pleasant environment. As there are many gorgeous and well dressed girls a lot of people call this beach "the longest catwalk" on the Adriatic coast. The beach is 1500m long and its capacity is 3500 people.
