My alma mater!!! Go Aggies! New Mexico was my home for 4 years and what a time it was. Anyone who says the desert is boring is waaaaay off the mark! My favorite thing about Las cruces, home to NMSU, was the great New Mexican style Mexican food. Hot and spicy doesn't even come close to being an accurate description. The chile rellenos are especially good as some of the hottest, tastiest peppers in the world are grown a few miles away in Mesilla. Mesilla is a lovely old spanisn colonial village complete with plaza and orginal adobe houses. The next best thing besides the sunsets, were the people. They are probably some of the nicest people I've ever met anywhere in the world. |
