Something special for you my friend???? When we got off the train that night at 10:00, well, the city just looked sleazy. It didn't seem to have much appeal. However, the next day we saw a completely different picture. There were many old buildings that had moorish facades with faded pastel colors like the ones you see in southern European cities. At night once again the city changes tempo and after walking around for a bit you can find some interesting nightspots. The one we found was on the ground level of the Hotel El Muniria. You had to knock on a rod iron door to get in and it had a largely British clientele. By large I mean 8 people or so. The decor was interesting. The whole room was covered in a deep blue satin that ended with a large rope pull in the center of the ceiling. It was cool bar with a lot of Interzone charm! |
| | View from the Hotel Continental We stayed at the Hotel Continental for about a week. It is an amazing, legendary hotel from another era. However, it faced a truck depot, go figure! |
| You may need your flapper dress to stay here! |
| | The interior This is the interior of the Hotel Continental, it has many rooms and areas and it basically defies description. It has to be seen to be believed. |
