A Colorful Island

Jean and Dan in the colorful town of Burano
While we were in Venice, we decided to go to the island of Burano, a small, colorful island 7 kilometers north of Venice. Burano is one of the greater centers of the lagoon of Venice, with its 7.000 inhabitants around, a flourishing activity of fishing, laces and tourism. It was overcast the day we visited Burano but the village was so colorful it didnt matter!
First glimpse of the colorful houses in Burano
We travel from Venice by water (with a "vaporetto"), a boat trip of about 40 minutes in the middle of the lagoon, here in Burano we discover a maze of narrow streets "calli" and banks "fondamente" on small canals.

Burano has its own architectural style with tightly packed houses and unlike Venice, Burano is very rich with color.

Pictures are great and I love your watermark feature - it's much more impressive than mine :-) Seems we have similar tastes in places to visit too!
