Apple Tea, Beating Sun and Friendly People

Never having cycled anywhere 'wilder' than the Alps, I started in the centre of Istanbul and headed to the NW towards Bulgaria.

Nervous about the traffic, heat and 'long' distances, I could not have been so wrong. Never had I experienced such a friendly and helpful people some of whom would invite me into their homes, in to have tea, or to ask about me, my family and my country.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Friendly people, amazing architecture
Cons:Sewer rivers into the Bosporus
In a nutshell:A flat dull ride but the towns and cities make up for it
