' KRABI ' in semi old thai means 'sword' which may have rooted from legends where a sword was found beneath the soils before it was claimed.
KRABI, in my experience, is a step closer to paradise. It is the gateway leading out to more than 160+ islands, both small and large. The beach quality of these little islands are as soft as talcum powder and as clear if not more than the warm waters of maldives!
Some of the larger islands have little inlets leading into caves known as ' hongs' in thai meaning = rooms.
Amazingly, these little narrow sharp cave walls, with not more than a few centimeters away from tearing your flesh, leads into an open lagoon and open sky!
KRABI itself is a smaller coastal town when compared to the more popular islands like PHUKET and SAMUI...and i hope that this place remains intact forever.
Its geography and environmental blesses itself with pineapples, coconuts, rubber, and boasts one of the richest inhabitants of wildlife.
One can easily get to KRABI by ground transportation / air from BKK (about 800+ kms)...or even hopping around from the southern coastal towns.... |
