I'm always surprised how many people don't get further than their own backyard and have no interest in travelling.

I was lucky to be able to travel through my work and that allowed me to experience some great places and people. It also got me hooked on travelling and I've tried to get to 2 or 3 new places each year.

You only have one life and you shouldn't waste it so in my opinion you need to get out there and travel.

You should have at least one goal in your life. For me its got to be travelling and meeting new people from all over the world and experiencing their own unique lifestyles.

My pages are about my experiences aswell as trying to give you some usefull information about the places I have visited.

Mansfield, ENGLAND

The old victorian market square - Mansfield

Mansfield is where I was born.
Its a small to medium town with about 250,000 people.
Its in the middle of ENGLAND and is famous for the story of ROBIN HOOD and also less famous for its football team THE STAGS (Mansfield Town Football Club).
The people in Mansfield are hard working and very friendly. The town has seen a lot of job losses over the last 20 years due to its coal mines closing. At one point there were over 100 mines in the area but now there are just a few.
Mansfield as a very good nightlife and has about 30 pubs within 500 yards of each other.
If you are ever in Mansfield let me know and I will help you out the best I can. I know its a big IF but you never know.

My girlfriend. (Now my wife)
The one thing I believe you need in this life is somebody to share your experiences with. My girlfriend Debbie had not travelled much before she met me and had only been on beach holidays.
Now though she has caught the travel bug and loves to go to more unusual places and enjoys seeing what a place is really like away from the tourist trap. We have been to Rome, Florence, Venice, Dublin, Chicago and Denver in the last 2 years. Without her I know I would not have enjoyed myself as much.
I'd like to THANK you Debbie for making my travels even more wonderfull and for being an 'off the beaten track' kind of girl.

ICELAND (2007) - I fell in love with the place several years ago. I am going back for a second time with my wife for our wedding anniversary. This time in July and I will post some pictures and reviews.

WHAT AN AMAZING TRIP THIS WAS. STILL A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT IN THE WINTER OR SUMMER TIME.

Cornwall (2007) - I am going to here for only the second time. Its such a beautiful place considering its in England. My niece & nephew will be with us so it should be good fun.

THIS WAS A GREAT HOLIDAY. BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND LITTLE VILLAGES.
.
The Euro2008 football finals are my reason for visiting Zurich along with the fact that I've always wanted to go there. Will be going with 3 very good friends so it should be great.

NOT GOING NOW DUE TO ENGLAND LETTING US DOWN ONCE AGAIN

You managed to travel to one place before me. I hope its everything you expected. I hope you are enjoying the rolling hills, ocean waves breaking against the rocks on the seashore, the warm sand gently massaging your feet and the laughs of your daughter who was waiting there for you with open arms.

I miss you so much and will see you again when I buy my one-way ticket.

5 years on and it only feels like 5 minutes. It still hurts that I never got to say goodbye. I still miss you loads and hope one day to see you again.
