It took a while before I discovered that something interesting like Singapore off the beaten track actually exists! That there are ample opportunities to make enjoyable walks away from the overpromoted so called tourist attractions and shopping malls.
I recommend anyone staying 3 days or longer in Singapore to pick up a so called off the beaten path excursion in order to get a more balanced impression of the Island that has more on offer than shopping malls, Sentosa or a Wacky Duck Tour!!
Just wander the pathways along Singapore's numerous canals and rivers Islandwide, stroll around beautiful parks and along the stunning Coastline, eat in remoter Townships, check out those inviting unknown green and blue spots on the Island Map and follow the footsteps of inspiring resident explorers who described their adventures on personal blogs elsewhere on the net. To mention a few things....
In the off the beaten path section, I outline several of those walks & excursions, doing this in detail so that anyone interested can just print the tipseries and kick off, anytime of the year... |
About my Singapore page
Besides reflecting some of my weekend wanderings all over the Island, I also offer tips and opinion on several of the major tourist attractions. On top, I added some local customs that would be different from my European home. Please don't take these too serious. Restaurant tips are important, but I leave this to other Singaporean VT'ers who tend to excel in this.
My tips are all in the main Singapore page, with mostly just one picture per tip, while some more pictures may appear in seperate travelogues (links provided). On this Intro page I will register topics and updates, with links that should make browsing a bit easier in a page that is bound to become massive soon. So here we go! |

You might want to stop suggesting how we rate your tips because a tip is not universally helpful. For example, in general your tip on coffee is a good one, but I don't drink coffee so is it helpful to me? Very nice tips though. |
