Uzbekistan has astonishing well preserved ancient Islamic architecture; provides very unusual travel experiences every day and offers some of the most hospitable people thinkable.
I experienced that for the first time when Shokir and his wonderful wife Mavluda invited me to their village to stay at their familyhome and celebrate his brothers wedding. I ended up staying 5 days! |

Just been to Bukara. He is still there selling paintings. Loved them Bought 2. Prices up since your 2003 post. They are lovely pieces, fine lines & a great momento of a country which surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend a visit. |
