Kili: desolation and beauty - Kilimanjaro National Park

I'm not gonna do it, I told myself before I left. It's too expensive, can hike 2 months in Nepal for the same amount of money. But when the bus approached Moshi and I stared up at Kili, I knew I couldn't resist it. I went to an agency and the next day I set off....to reach the summit of one of the most stunning mountains I've ever seen.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Superb mountaintrekking with great reward!
Cons:Expensive: at least about $650/6 days + tips
In a nutshell:A real must for trekkers with lots of cash!!

Every word journaling your ascent up Mt. Kilimanjaro was fascinating!! I would never be able to do it physically myself, but I love reading about others who have done it--Congrats!!
