Memorials

Gone back to D.C. to take my sister to Franconia, Virginia. I visited the new World War II Memorial and surprised that one of th e pillars they erected is honoring my home country, the Philippines --- makes you really proud of the shared history of the two countries. After all, America is still the beacon of freedom and liberty all over the world...

I also made a side-trip to Mt. Vernon. George Washington's estate. It was a good sightseeing trip for you learn about the beginnings of the famous American Stateman.

Joseph, Your pic of the Washington monument and the cherry blossoms is really beautiful. Also, although I lived there for 30 years, I never knew about the flea market at Dupont Circle. Will have to go the next time I am down there.
