Someday I will redo my Venice pages. I got bored with them and blew 'em away a couple of years ago, but I started missing Venice & thinking about how pretty it was......

Venice has been done-to-death on VT and everywhere else, so this time I am posting as few std pix (rialto, etc.) as possible. There are lots of better Venice pages & pix if you look for them.
But (above) .. here's one:

I liked Venice very much, it is beautiful, unique and so very romantic, but it is so crowded, touristed, and overpriced.

I recommend it once, then it's up to you if you want to return.

I probably will someday, as there really is no city like it.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Walking late at night trying to get lost
  • Cons:too many tourists in the daytime
  • In a nutshell:Venice is too beautiful to pass up, tourists or not; worth at least one trip

    Ah, Venice, a spot that I have always wanted to experience myself! You've got some unique tips here but I'm afraid the Hotel American is out of my $ league!
