It is not cliche | Assemblée Nationale & Exguy's 'large metal tower' |
it's all true.
Beautiful "city of light"
Outstanding food; stylish Parisians; history; art; energy, architecture; the full musical spectrum from jazz to salsa; a strollers paradise with exciting eye-candy (boring travel-cliche alert!) everywhere; the Paris "vibe" - and cafe society at its best. Paris still has style.....
- Just a personal suggestion: ..... Odd as it may sound, if possible when you go to Paris for the first time, learn enough polite French to get around, and ..... go by yourself You will never be the same
Apologies (for gushing) to anyone who actually lives within the Paris Peripherique and wakes up with her daily, warts & all...
but Paris changed my life, and I will always count the days until the next time I return.

All the great parksOne of my favorite things about Paris is everywhere you turn there are a lot of beautiful parks. Here is an article by Alan Riding about some of the great "Secret Gardens" Paris has waiting. Secret Gardens"Make a wrong turn in Paris and something good is bound to come of it. "
For Paris photograph lovers: Anthonys Home Page I still share a couple of his photos with his permission, as I enjoy them and I think you will also. Please pay a visit to his excellent web site if you find time. | | |

| Pros: | "My fave city on the planet, Cafe Society, food, Parisians" | | Cons: | "If you learn a little polite French, few if any except maybe: a) gentrification; and b) the traffic & afternoon rush hour in the Metro when it is hot, crowded & humid" | | In A Nutshell: | "I will always love Paris, one of the best cities in the world" |
