Great allrounder

The cycling continues

Bolivean Plateu near Attapeu
My crazy bicycling adventure continued briefly in Laos. I arrived at the Bo Y - Attapeu border crossing from Vietnam and immediately realized there is a much more relaxed pace of life here. Considerably less developed than Vietnam, it is quite refreshing not to be hounded to buy, buy, buy by every person you meet (unlike Vietnam). However sometimes you really do want to buy something (ie. lunch) and there are just no shops or signs of civilization for miles and miles.
Waterfront property - Don Det style

4000 islands - Si Phan Don

No beaches to speak of , but a truly relaxing place to sit on the balcony and watch the sunrise or sunset. I stayed on Don Det for US$2 a night in a waterfront property.
School's out

The adventurous north

Village homestays, canoeing, kayaking, trekking, swimming through water caves, elephant riding, tubing are all on offer especially in Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang.
