The Island

I live on what by rights should be called the largest island in the contential United States. We're surrounded by water on all sides so that makes it an island, right? :) We were out for a little drive and decided to take the granddaughter to have a look at Kentucky Dam. These are a few of the pictures we took there. Hope they are of interest.

This image is from Google Earth. You can see all the water around our little town, Smithland, and our part of Livingston County. The reduced size of the uploaded image makes it hard to read the printing. The rivers are the Ohio on the West side, The Tennessee on the Southern, The Cumberland on the North and Eastern sides, and, the Barkley Canal on the Southeastern. Barkley Canal joins the lakes behind Kentucky Dam and Barkley Dam.
