Egypt - Hurghada

Hotel at night

Grand Resort Hurghada

I spent wonderful 2 weeks in this hotel. I really can't have a bad word, the hotel is great. Although it is not right next to the seashore, but 2 other hotels are available to visit on the beach, both of them are quite close.
From the hotels I have seen there, IMHO this was the nicest, with the best design and pool.
Service and the restaurants are great, dishes are presented for every taste, including some local stuff, too. I guess these local things were a bit adjusted to the european people, though.
We had a double room "de luxe", with air condition, which was at the beginning a bit annoying, due to the high temperature difference, but later it turned out to be a bless. The room was very good in all aspects, the only thing which wasn't too nice, is the dark bath tub (It was in a closed little part of the bathroom with no light in it). The bed was at least 2,2m long, and 3m wide, really comfortable... ;-).
Through the glass...

Red Sea

The Red Sea is really worth seeing. Great for divers, although I didn't dive, just took part in a glassboat trip. The temperature of the water was around 25 degrees Celsius. The beach is sandy and very nice, a bit crowded with german tourists. :-)

The glassboat is a specially constucted vessel with a thick glass (or I guess rather plexi or something) plate built in the bottom. Through the glass you can see what's in the water and on the bottom. It was very interesting, we saw a lot of funny fishes, and other species when passing over coral reefs. It's useful for people without diving licence, or being afraid of fish.(Yes, I was surprised how many of them were there...)

There was also a possibility to go on a smaller submarine for a bit closer look.

Pros:"Red Sea, diving, marvellous ancient ruins and history, unlimited sun"
Cons:"diarrhea and stomach problems, unlimited sun ;-)"
