"Beautiful Buildings in the Old City" Ljubljana by Grazina

Ljubjana the Capital of Slovenia. I was told means "The City of Love". 280,000 population...a very young inhabitants. A country that is so strong that even though at one point in time it was a country called Yogoslavia she still held on to her langauge which I feel that the language makes the person and the culture. In 1991 like all other eastern european countries fought for their independence from Yogoslav Socialist Republic.

The life line of the City of Ljubjana. This river divides the Old Town from the newer Ljubjana. The buildings changes in the architectural style as you leave the new and enter into the OLD TOWN which is a very romantic feeling when you walk the river side and enter to and fo from the river to the old town. Even on a rainy day I still enjoyed the walk and felt like bursting into song (Gene Kelly "Sing in the Rain").

The real treasure of Ljubljana is the water itself (Ljubljanica River) which is 41 km long and some 20 km of it course lies underground in caves. But now days they are starting to retrieve loss relics & artifacts from the river that were maybe offering from people from the pass... Romans & Celtics and as far back as the Stone Age. It's beginning now a playground for the archeologists and treasure hunters.

• Pros:So much to offer to the tourists...Old town was wonderful and peaceful.
• Cons:I see that the people don't see what the outsider sees.
• In a nutshell:70% forrest the rest all green... the time I was there it was raining but that's okay the people made it a wonderful place to enjoy in spite of the weather.
