Camrose is a beautiful prarie city of about 16,000, in Eastern/Central Alberta, South/ East of Edmonton.
I visit Camrose for the summer festivals, (J-Walkers Jamboree, Stage 13 Rock Concert, or Big Valley Jamboree). These are multi-day concerts with attendance more than double the cities population. The fairgrounds turn into a mini city with everyone focused on having fun.
I have many friends who attended Augustana University, in Camrose because of the excellent Cross Country Ski program. The ski-trails are right across the street, so they can train every day of the week.
Camrose is a very friendly place, where everyone you pass on the street says hello.
They have a website at http://www.camrose.com
- Pros:Beautiful, Friendly, Slow Pace, Parks, Trails, Festivals
- Cons:Slow Pace
- In a nutshell:Good Place to get involved.

I spent a night or two at the Norseman Inn in Camrose back in 93. I have relatives in Hay Lakes, believe it or not!
