My Kissamos

by gale.blog.pl - last update: Dec 13, 2005

Kissamos, also known as Kastelli is a small town in North-West Crete, approximately 1 hour by bus from Chania.

I loved the atmosphere of the place - it's as messy as all small towns in Greece and full of unfinished houses. People here are very friendly and in May or early October there are not many tourists here. I generally think that Kissamos is not a major tourist attraction as far as package holidays are concerned: there's nothing really impressive to see here except for the stunning sea/mountain view.

For more (but not much more) information check this page on Kastelli

Pros:"Quite place not far from Chania"
Cons:"No attraction for package holidays"

Enjoyed this page. Nowadays houses seem to be completed (with roof) on the top floor and they work downwards. This is certainly the case on the mainland.

Kissamos sounds like a nice holiday retreat, thanks for introducing it to me. It's high time I headed for Greece... maybe this year ;-)
