Bossier City is located along the east bank of the Red River across from Shreveport in Northwest Louisiana. Bossier City is known as one of the region's most popular gaming destinations, with three full-service casinos and world-class thoroughbred racing at Louisiana Downs. It is also the location of Barksdale Air Force Base, home of the 2nd Bomb Wing, 8th Air Force, and 917th Wing.
The city is a considered a suburb of Shreveport and the two cities form a metroplex with Bossier City being the smaller of the two. It's almost like one city, so please see my Shreveport page for more great idea's in the area. |
