I love Napa! It’s a little slice of heaven situated in the heart of Northern California. Any wine lover should make the pilgrimage here at least once, and I, for one, try to visit as often as possible. The Wine Country consists of several communities scattered throughout the Napa Valley, so my Napa pages reflect that, covering the whole area rather than just the city of Napa. When traveling here you’ll need a car to see it all. The wineries are spread out through the area. But that also means appointing a designated driver if you’re planning on participating in the tastings offered at the vineyards. There are so many wineries here you won’t be able to visit them all on one trip, and if there are specific vineyards you intend to visit make sure you call ahead. Some vineyards only allow tours and tastings by appointment while others tasting rooms are open to the public. Napa is famous for the wine, but the food here will make you want to come back for more. A trip to the Wine Country is an indulgence for the senses. I always leave with a hole in my wallet and a yearning to return. |
