I've now seen Venice twice, the first time during Carnivale ! On that trip, I had only five hours. I was able to make my way from the train station to the Doge's Palace and back, thigh to thigh with a throng of costumed Venetians and travelers. This time, I was able to meander. :) There is such magic to the city that Rick (Steves) refers to as 'an elegant puddle of decay'. It's hard not to fall in love with it. |
