Our world travels....

by johsab - last update: Feb 1, 2003

Chaing Mai, Thailand

Glad we are walking instead of driving
I took this picture during our 7 hour trek into the jungles of Thailand. The start of the trip was about 2 hours outside of Chaing Mai, Thailand - a great town 1.5 hours north of Bangkok by plane.
Red Sea, KSA

Red Sea Diving in Yambu, Saudi Arabia

It doesn't get any better than this. The best diving in the world is off the coast of Saudi Arabia in Yambu. Miles of undisturbed beauty - noone around for miles. Never heard of it? Most people have not. Even if you wanted to go, Saudi Arabia is closed to tourists. You would have to be sponsored by someone.
Peaceful...

Oberbayern, Germany

Great location in the world. Oberbayern is about a 3 hour drive SW of Munich. Great skiing, great hiking, great views.

Aswan, Egypt

Another great trip. This is a shot along the Nile River in Aswan, Egypt. We visited Cario and worked out way "up" the Nile via cruise ship to Luxor.

We took this private felucca (native sailboat) from Aswan to the West Bank. The sailboat meandered up the Nile according to the winds. It was very relaxing.

We stopped first to visit St. Simeons Monastery by camel. We rode two camels up a long path and over sand dunes to the St. Simeons Monastery. This Monastery was used until the 5th Century by Roman monks until it is said that the Nile shifted and eliminated their ability to grow crops effectively.
