Getting TO/AROUND: They may not be 777s anymore, but UA does have wonderful non-stop DAILY 767 service to GRU Sao Paulo from IAD (Washington-Dulles,) and ORD (Chicago O'Hare.)

Getting TO/AROUND: Another truism from the guidebooks and travel magazines: traffic in Sao Paulo is so congested and stifling, that many businesspeople get to and from their meetings around town by helicopter! What a hoot, eh? But we had this helipad virtually right outside our balcony and saw it used quite often in the week I was there. Even when the whirlybirds weren't landing and taking off in front of our eyes, the chop-chop-chop of their whirring blades could be heard at all hours of the day. Not a nuisance at all, it just added to the big-city thrill of it all!

Cristina , I just LOVE the way you describe all that... you drive people nuts with this , including me and I live only ten minutes away from this Creme Catalan...( it's called diferent here, can't recall...)

I've never been to that part of the world, but the tips are great. I think I wouldn't risk 'feijoada' ( for fear of finding pig's tail or ear) but creme catalan sounds delicious. I'm sure I would forget counting the calories!
