What's on the Menu

Perhaps the best places to dine are not really inside the City of Canton proper, but a place called Belden Village; a hop skip and a jump from the greater downtown Canton area. Just off Interstate 77, Belden Village is a host to dozens of sit down restaurants and fast food places. But the best place I like to dine is The Olive Garden. Nothing on the menu is bad - but I recommend the the soup and salad; cheap, great tasting and very filling. Refills ad infinitum on the soups ( pasta fagiole is my favorite ) and the fresh garlic breadsticks are fantastic. Top it off with a nice dry red wine and that, for me. is a meal.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Home of the Professinal Football Hall of Fame
  • Cons:The city needs a good face lift.
  • In a nutshell:Not just the Football Hall of Fame, but birthplace of President William McKinley. A tour of the memorial should be on every schoolchilds list.

I visited Canton one day many many years ago to check out the Hall of Fame. Very vague memories, as I was quite young.
