"A beautiful spa nicely surrounded by mountains" Baile Herculane by Mique

The old centre of Baile Herculane is a place i'd plan to go back to. It was so relaxing even though i was here only for a day. And it is a beautiful place. Though there is a new part to this old resort that is just like to many resort places in the world. Full of fast food and pizza places, souvenir stands and the like. But luckily if you stay at the historic centre you have no problem evading the new place.

Although outside the summer season this place is very quite and mostly occupied by elderly people (the historic centre that is), it has a certain elegance and tranquility to it that almost got me staying for a bit longer. But i had just started on my trip and was still eager to visit so many other places.... So apart from having my feet in one of the free hot water basins next to the river, i didn't enjoy any of the more relaxing things Baile Herculane has to offer than the fresh mountain air.

But with just a day and the mountain decked out in autumn colours, the fresh air and some good company i met along the stroll up to the brigand's cave, i had a great time here.
