For vegetables and fruit the market is a very nice place to get it. Alongside this market are small shops where you can get bread and such things. Just make sure they give you fresh bread and not leftovers from yesterday.
When i was there there was quite a selection of fruit and vegetables. But apparently it can also be so that the only thing on offer are potatoes..
