Timisoara

Stinker enjoying a coffee in Piata Unirii
The first real travel destination in Romania for me and Stinker was Timisoara.
Piata Victoriei
One of the remarkable things about Timisoara is that it has so many piata's and parks. Which makes it a very nice and pleasant city to be in. Especially when the sun is shining!
On the surface there isn't much to be seen of the 1989 revolution. There are of course the little church where the revolution began, the bullet holes in the cathedral and the memorials erected. But for the rest Timisoara looks like any other city. Full with people going on about their business. Until you ask people about the revolution. They still do remember.

Piata Unirii (Dome Square is the old name) is also my fav square in Romania! You may find similar square in Brasov! (That used to be a german city as well just like Temeswar).
