"A very special city" Madurodam by Mique

Madurodam Travel Guide: 67 reviews and 167 photos

Hadn't visited Maduodam in a while. After all, it is most fun if you're accompanied by either a lttle kid or by foreigners. Bith not readily available to me, i hadn't been here in 3 or 4 years. Untill i had these VT-ers over from New York. And what better place to start exploring the Netherlands then in Madurodam? After all, all our most noteworthy monuments, acrchitecture, and all other things of interest can be found here on a scale of 1:25

Madurodam was opened in 1952. It was a combination of charity-funding (for a student sanatorium on tuberculosis. The goal being able to let students recover as well as continuing their studies) and a war-memorial for the son of the Maduro's.

In 1996 the town was enlarged since it ran out of space. A new entrance was made and several new miniatures were added to the park e.g the Erasmus bridge (Rotterdam)
