OK, i came off the ferry about 8 hours ago. It was a very interesting 48 hours. Met the only other 2 foreigners on the boat while still in line for the tickets. And we basically spend all our time together. Now i`m staying with Pebbles. It was too late to go to the place i was heading for without risking to be stuck halfway because there would be no more busses this evening. And she had offered i could crash at her place tonight. An offer i couldn`t refuse. Anyways, it still feels like the ground is moving sometimes (like almost everytime i sit down) and i have to get up tomorrow at 5.30 or so to get my bus to Kochi to catch my bus to a place called Motoyama and it is past midnight. I think i`m going to call it a day...

Am of course again way behind schedule.. So much happened and so little time to update this. But i've been in Motoyama a week now. And am having a great time. It is a small town on Shikoku island hidden between the mountains. About 4000 people and i'm willing to bet that most of them knwo by now that another foreigner has strayed into their midst. They have 3 westerners who live and work here. 2 via the JET-program and someone who manages a restaurant here. But that is about it. This place is on no tourist map even though the mountains are beautiful. And there is a small traditional 'hotel-thingy' here as well. People are very very nice. They all love to have foreigners here and even this morning when i went out to mail my postcard the meeting and greeting on the street made it an experience worth remembering.

I wish i could live here for a year. It is a great place to get to know real japanese culture. Besides, i've tried Taiko (traditional japanese drum) and have gotten quite hooked on that. And there afre more walks up the mountains then i have had time for so far (also due to the rain..). But unfortunately they have no place (read: job) for me here...
