So you'll find places like the bear cave, Baile Felix, Cetariu and Salard on this page.

Enjoy and you might even consider visting this place one day. It is still rather of the beaten path, but very worth it.

Roma in Salard

At the moment i'm staying in Oradea for the winter. Have spent several weeks in Cetariu and loved the village. But without your own means of transportation you're pretty much stuck there. There runs a bus 5 times a day. It runs at 5 and 6 in the morning, half past 8, somewhere around midday and in the evening. That is from Cetariu to Oradea. From Oradea to cetariu it is about the same thing though the accent of the bus schedule is more in the evening, the last 2 buses stay over the night in a village just after Cetariu so they take the services of 5 and 6 in the morning. And the private mini-bus services haven't made their way to Cetariu yet...

Pros and Cons

Pros:Almost undiscovered by tourism
Cons:Can't think of any major ones
In a nutshell:In time a major competitor for the big holiday countries

My two adopted sons lived in Cetariu for over a year, around 1998. We hope to see it this year on our return to Romania for a wedding in Marghita.

Bears cave is a great place to visit! Not far from it, up in the mountains, is Padis, a real dream land.

Quite a discovery of that cave.. quite tragic for the bears. Amazing what images those stalacmites produce. Sounds like you don't need to drink, just inhale at the distillary:-) An interesting page.
