"Unfortunately the chateau was closed" Cadillac by Mique

Cadillac Travel Guide: 5 reviews and 8 photos

By just hearing the name Cadillac i knew i had to visit the place. I didn?t exactly have a good image of what to expect here. But it sounded so familiar. Whether that has anything to do with the car i don?t know. THe only thing i found was that i had imagined the town to be much bigger. It is a very small town, based mainly around the chateau and the church.

Though small, the town definitely has charm. Although the streets aren?t actually car-free there are very few cars actually entering. There is a big parking on the main square before the chateau which helps to spoil your pcitures of the chateau. And i can imagine that place filling up fast. Especially in summer. Though the day i was there, there were very few tourists.

What i particularly liked about Cadillac is the city walls and the gates. It still has much of the original wall. And i noticed 3 gates. Though there might actually be more then those 3.
