Unfortunately the day we went to see La Reole was a very wet and very cold monday. So, although the place has much more to offer, we never got around to seeing it all. We even didn´t have enough energy left after all the wind and rain to go and see the castle or what´s left of it. i think only taking in the view in front of the abbey did cost us 2 umbrella´s..

La Reole is one of the bigger places in the Entre-deux-mers area and the one with a train station. I know we´ve missed some great spots here but that has to be discovered some other time

Looks like a nice place to visit! And weather you had there still was better than we had in Scheiveningen, am I wrong? :-)

Such a shame about your weather... disappointing for you but you obviously made the most of what you could. I enjoy the detail of places. Well at least they have some helpful signs even if not in English, you can follow them.

Lovely pictures despite the rain! I love this region's villages, especially the bastides!
