A great and cheap way to stay in Vancouver is in one of the hostels available. The Global Village Backpackers is a new hostel in Vancouver since 1999. It is located in downtown Vancouver has colourful atmosphere, rooftop deck and common areas provide an excellent opportunity for young travellers to meet and relax. Their goal is to provide the best value and the most exciting experience possible for guests in a safe, comfortable, clean atmosphere. There are other hostels like the HI-hostels and the Cambie hostels which are also great hostels.

Unique Qualities: These are all very clean and nice hostels with decent pricing (approximately $20 Canadian dollars) a night. Most have a nice meeting area with internet and much more. Most of them are located downtown or at least pretty close to the downtown core. They have great information and packages to do trips in and around Vancouver.

A classic fixture in Vancouver's West End, this hotel is a historical landmark; its traditional European-style facade is almost completely obscured by ivy. This hotel is located close to the entrance of Stanley Park and the Marina. The lobby of the hotel is very impressive and warm. The rooms are beautiful and there is a choice of swimming outside or inside as the hotel has two very nice swimming pools. You can also relax in their whirlpool and their steam room and sauna. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Stanley Park and all its wonderful attractions.

Unique Qualities: Two pools, one inside and one outside. There's a sauna, whirlpool and steam room. Beautiful lobby, gorgeous views and different lovely dining areas. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great service.

This is a lovely hotel with wonderful rooms. I found it very clean, comfortable and the staff is really nice. The views from the rooms overlooking the beach are awesome.

This hotel is very clean, has a beautiful decor and the staff is great. The food in the pub is pretty good too. Sometimes it can get a bit noisy when there are events going on in the pub. Many of the major attractions and sights are within walking distance. A great comfortable and not too pricy hotel.

Wonderful Bed & Breakfast close to one of the nicest beaches in Vancouver. The views are stunning, the people are so friendly. It's a very quiet neighbourhood not all too far from UBC.

Unique Qualities: The Bed and Breakfast is very quiet and located in the beautiful westside neighbourhood. Across the street from there is a park and just a short walk from Vancouver's longest sandy beach.

It's a close walk to public transportation, restaurants, shops and a cinema.
The rooms have very comfortable beds and you get a wholesome breakfast including free-range eggs and organics. It's a on-smoking place.
