Spinnaker's: Another great pub in Victoria
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Vancouver Island - Spinnaker's Pub in Victoria
  • Spinnaker's Pub in Victoria
  • by Ann75

  • Restaurant Name: Spinnaker's

Spinnakers is first and foremost a micro-brewery, and you will be confronted by this when you walk in the door. The stainless steel tanks in the brew room are right there for everyone to see.

Spinnakers was the first brew pub licensed in BC - going back to 1984. Not to be outdone by the beer and food, the view of Victoria's Harbour and the Olympic Mountains is superb, and the walking path which follows much of Victoria's shoreline passes right through Spinnaker's front yard.

If you want the Westcoast experience, sit on the patio, sip a quality brew, and order some seafood. It doesn't get better than this...especially on a sunny summer day.

Favorite Dish: The seafood on the menu is second-to-none. Any menu here is delicious and will leave you full and satisfied! The comprehensive selection of high quality beers on tap will serve every taste.

Nothing tastes like White Spot: A cozy burger restaurant and much more
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Nothing tastes like White Spot

White Spot is a Vancouver based chain of over fifty family dining restaurants in western Canada. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, White Spot has a variety of irresistible dishes for all tastes. White Spot has a diversity of menus. From sandwiches to burges, salads to seafood dishes, pasta to steaks, chicken dishes, wraps, soups and much more.

Favorite Dish: For lunch the sanwiches are great! The best sandwich is "The White Spot Club" is house roasted turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and chili sauce on toasted white or brown. It comes with creamy coleslaw & "endless" fries.

The big ceasar salad at White Spot is als very good and enough for lunch. It has lettuce with little pieces of bacon, shredded cheese, croutons and bread slices

For dinner there is a big choice too. The brugers really good. Especially the BC burger which is a 1/4 pound beef burger with bacen and cheddar. All the burgers come with creamy coleslaw and "endless" fries.

Also very good is "The Spot's fish and Chips". The fish has a crispy tempura batter. It comes with creamy coleslaw and "endless" fries. You can choose between 2 or 3 pieces of fish.

Most of the things cost less thatn US$10, but some of the meals might be a little more.

The cheapest way to eat in British Columbia is in a fast food restaurant. There is a great choice of different places and you will find at least one in almost every town/city in BC. Of course you have the big franchise fast food chains, but also the small diners have very good deals.

Here are some of Vancouver's choices of fast food:
*McDonalds: Hamburgers, fries, salads, ice cream and more.
*Wendy's: more a homestyle hamburger place, fries, salads, ice cream and more.
*A&W: One of the best tasting places with delicious hamburgers, fries, the FAMOUS ROOTBEER, salads, and much more.
*KFC: Kentucky Fried Chicken: Hamburgers, fries, chicken meals, pieces of chicken, popcorn chicken, salads, and much more.
*:Subway: The tasty fresh deli style sandwiches with a great choice of vegetables, meats, bread, some cookies and much more.
*:Manchu Wok: This tasty Chinese food is mostly find in the food court of the malls. A big diversity in tasty foods for a good price.
*:Pizza Hut: The great tasting pizza's with toppings of you choice, breadsticks, cinnamon sticks, and much more.
*:Domino's Pizza: Another place for great tasting pizza's with toppings of your choice, breadsticks, and much more.

This is the bulk of the fast food places that you will find the most in British Columbia. Of course there are many many more to find. The food court in the malls is usually a great place too with a big diversity of choices and good prices!

Favorite Dish: These places have all pretty good tasting food, it's cheap and easy. Not something too eat all the time, but thank goodness there is a diversity in the different fast foods.
