Hmm... what's my next destination? | When I grow up, I want to go..... |
How I wish that the red cap my little daughter is wearing is a magical one, that can transport the wearer to any destinations in the world! Like Aladdin's magic carpet, it can whisk you anywhere you choose, to explore, to learn, to experience, and to forget about life's mundane routines/ chores / obligations!
There are many places to see, so little time! But life has a funny way of putting obstacles in one's path, what with a job that pays the bills, children to look after, etc. Life's reality crashes in. Nevertheless, I never stop trying! Like Captain Taggart (played by Tim Allen) said in the movie Galaxy Quest,NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.... |
| Karen Long-Neck Village Girl |
| | Village girl @Chiangmai,Thailand I can never forget my recent (and first) trip to Chiangmai, and I went to visit the Karen Long-Neck Village. The girls are all so young, gentle and sweet. All they want is for you to buy some souvenirs from them, and they willingly pose and smile for the cameras. To make them really happy, you can bring some make-up (they love to make up) for them. There aren't many children that I saw, though. |
| | Roller-coaster at Ocean Park Taken while I was on a Roller Coaster at Ocean Park, Hong Kong. It was awesome! The ride is called The Dragon. Whoooooo....
See my Hong Kong pages {lots of tips on Disneyland} HongKong
|
| | Hong Kong Disneyland There is something about Disneyland. A kind of magic in the air. Once I stepped off the "Disney Express", I felt I was transported to the magical world of Disney. Thoroughly enjoyable. Word of warning - it is the smallest Disneyland of all (i believe). At Tokyo Disneyland, we spent a full 12 hours and still we missed out on Adventure Land. At HK DSL, within 6-7 hours, we have seen all the Lands! We actually went on the thrilling Buzz Lightyear ride 7 times and I managed to score 700,000 points at the final try! Not bad considering my first try was a miserable 250,000 ! |
| | Victoria Peak When I arrived in Hong Kong, it was exactly as I expected - busy, busy, busy, lots of people everywhere hurrying here-and-there. Air was thick with smog. Tall buildings everywhere. Cars everywhere. The night scenes are beautiful because of all the building lights. You must go to Avenue of the Stars @Kowloon. It is a light-show put up by the buildings across at Hong Kong Island, every night without fail at 8pm. |
| | Retro Fever This was a Dinner & Dance, and the theme was retro. Can you see which one is me in the group - hint, big brown Afro wig, and big sunglasses..... :-) |
