"High Rolls-Mountain Park, Land of Enchantment" High Rolls by RichardBlaine

High Rolls Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 2 photos

Home Sweet Home

High Rolls is a small, residential community in the Sacramento Mountains of Southern New Mexico near Alamogordo. Not much goes on in High Rolls, but that is the reason most folks live here instead of in the bigger towns and cities of New Mexico. Another reason is the spectacular views of the Tularosa Basin and the White Sands that many of us enjoy from our small mountain homes.

The View

From 7000 feet at High Rolls, the Tularosa Basin is at 4500 feet. Great views of the White Sands are a real treat from High Rolls, as well as relief from the hot summer temps down in the desert.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Inexpensive, quiet, great views, great climate, everybody knows everybody
  • Cons:Long drive to anywhere, quiet, everybody knows everybody,
  • In a nutshell:High Rolls defines the New Mexico "Land of Enchantment"
