  • alright your not in france anymore !!!!! we as americans TIP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you get good service the standard tip at a bar or restaurant is 15%, if you can't figure that out ask the waiter or bartender and i'm more than possitive that they will tell you..and 20% is even more appreciated!!!
tip the bellman, the taxi stand guy,the valet, basically here in vegas tipping is the way most people earn a living..as a bartender myself i know that when i go out to eat i expect good service, if i don't get good service i don't tip 15%, but i never STIFF!! thats just plain tacky, how do you know that the person waiting on you isn't having a horrible day and just made some stupdid mistakes??? i never stiff!!!!

  • "There's an open wound of honesty that bleeds through their music; most fans in Vegas aren't prepared to deal with that until they stop doing it for the "nookie." There's some hope, though: It's usually the groups like Slow who play their hometowns unnoticed, and a year later levitate to higher pastures. Slow to Surface performs some of the smartest rock 'n' roll Vegas has to offer. Lyrics that border on poetry and rhythms that shift like a tropical storm, while the fabric of guitar intricacies cinch it all into a tightly wrapped ball of thunder."

  • "With a doorway open to endless possibilities, Slow To Surface is a band driven by their sense of humility, seeking for that path that will lead them to enlightenment. While they are opposed to everything that a Rock Star stands for, given the chance, Slow To Surface would take full advantage of the opportunities that a record label could offer them. In the end, it will come down to whoever is able to fully understand & support what Slow To Surface stands for, and will allow the band to completely express them selves for the entire world to experience…"

  • Slow to Surface's set was inspiring. Dressed alike in dark Dickies, the band looked like zookeepers on the loose. And the guitar play was just as wild. Steve Penhall and Zach Saucier accomplish an organic stereo effect by unselfishly complimenting each other's phrasing. They pull in and out of ambient/spacey effects while finishing off the other's last note, all before crashing into the chorus in unison. But the guitar work couldn't be pulled off without a rhythm section that shined equally as bright. Drummer Mac Purdy and bassist Adam Handly fuse syncopated fills atop a steady four-four kick, baking it in the oven and pushing out a sonic platter for Benwood to put on his icing. He came out like a tiger screaming at an imaginary bit of prey perched somewhere around the worried soundman's booth, and drove his emotions deep into the icy Club Madrid air. It felt good to be one of the few that remained. I just hope they leave the local band nest soon and spread the good word around the country.

I love Las Vegas and enjoy looking at it through a local's eyes. Now I know where I can get a decent tatoo (if I ever decided I wanted one).
