I lived in Manchester for over 2 years, so I got to know it pretty well. There are many sides to the city, some rough, some trendy. People are generally warm and very talkative but there are plenty of oddballs about. One distinct advantage it holds over London is the close proximity to other major cities, for example Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Stoke also the Lake District is close at hand. All in all it is a pretty trendy place, although you will have to put up with the never ending rain. In short there is something for everyone. |
