'Mode': AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: Prague's metros are part of the city's integrated transport service made up of the Metro, trams, funicular to Petřín and city buses...
The Metro is the quickest and most comfortable way to get around the city, with three lines (Red, Yellow and Green), three junctions and dozens of stations that reach most major areas of the city.
Metro stations aren't the easiest to spot, so look out for a red 'M' sign within an upside-down triangle.
Prices are between 8 and 12 CZK depending on whether you need to transfer. You can also get 24hr tickets at 70 CZK and longer 5,7 & 15 day tickets as well.
You may be tempted to get one of the larger tickets, but ask yourself - will you be travelling that much in Prague using public transport?
My total public transport bill in my 5 days here was 40 CZK and this got me everywhere I wanted to - including a return trip to the airport (Bus to Dejvicka Green Line station)! Prague is just such a walkable city, though you should make sure you travel on a metro at least once for the experience!
