"Gent - best city in Belgium?" Gent by M0B1US

Gent is probably my favourite Belgian city, though I probably haven't spent enough time in Belgium to really make that call...

Certainly we only spent an evening and a day here and still saw a lot of what this city has to offer!

The historic centre of Gent is very beautiful, filled as it is with various cathedral/churchey-type places, canals, cobbled streets and a castle...

On the main canal

The centre is very compact, why not visit the many restaurants and bars!

Street scene

You should only need to walk around the pedestrian friendly centre. If you're feeling really lazy why not hop on a tram!

Also you can take a canal cruise.

Driving is easy around the periphery, but only to be used as a means of getting here...
