General Sydney/Aussie Customs: Weddings in Sydney

  • Fiat Bambinas in Martin Place

  • Consider this an excuse to get my Fiat Bambina picture in somewhere - sorry...! ;-)

Sydney seems to be a real hotspot for people to have their weddings!

It seems that every week you will come across wedding couples getting there snaps taken in front of one landmark or another...

This particular party I saw just after New Year's Day and I was taken by the procession of cute little Fiat cars - behind me is the Martin Place fountain, and the wedding couple were posing in front of that as well...

It seems to be a real thing in Australia to get some wedding shots 'on location', but then there are so many romantic and stylish settings all over Sydney.

Places I've seen couples taking photos include:

    The Opera House

    The Rocks

    Sydney Harbour Bridge

    The fountain in Hyde Park

    The Chinese Garden

    The Botanic Gardens

Really, that is just the tip of the iceberg for romantic locations, but it's a good start in this oh so photogenic city!

Why not come here for a honeymoon - you'll not be sorry!

General Sydney/Aussie Customs: Demonstrations/Marches from the Town Hall

  • The Town Hall on George St is where all the major marches start or finish in Sydney, because it is so centrally located.

This particular one in December 2002 is protesting the forthcoming invasion of Iraq, one of the biggest marches of its type in Australia - ever.

There were plenty of other marches while I was there including one protesting the way that the Chinese government was treating the Falun Gong...

So, you know where to go if you feeling like marching about something... ;-)
