Bellagio Fountains: The fountain show

  • The fountain show funs every 30 minutes or so during the day and more often peak times, it is amazing and there are lots of places you can view it from.

If it's windy then it gets posponed for another 30 minutes - this happened when I was there in August for a few hours - did get a bit annoying - however there are plenty of other things to do nearby!

By the way - I have another Bellagio page - the real thing in Italy - it's another amazing place but for totally different reasons - please have a look!

    Gambling Advice: Casino Lessons
  • Tip Rating:
  • A few of the Casinos offer free lessons on playing roulette and some of the card games.
If you're new to the idea of these games and you want to know more then ask around.

I went to the Flamingo's sessions - they were open to the public, you just turn up and wait around the tables. Most of these sessions run in the morning when it's quieter.

At the end of the day I still didn't gamble on the tables, however it was fun finding out how it works and how the etiquette works.

Luxor: Luxor - What an Entrance!
  • Tip Rating:
  • It's bigger than the real thing - and the nose hasn't fallen off yet!

This hotel and casino is an amazing piece of architecture. The black pyramid is a real landmark and at night the light on top shines out towards the stars (aparently the airport had to move one of its runways as the light was too bright - I don't know if someone was having me on, but it wouldn't surprise me!).

Aladdin: Aladins - Full of shops and places to eat

  • Aladdins is another one of those big complexes with a North African Aladdins theme.

Plenty of shops to wonder about and resturants to eat in. Worth a couple hours to wonder about.

    Venetian Hotel/Casino: My Favourite
  • Tip Rating:
  • Las Vegas Venetian Hotel/Casino
  • It's all there - the Realto Bridge,
  • Tower, Lions!

  • The Venetian is amazing, these people have gone to a great effort to reproduce many of the landmarks of Venice in a truely realistic way. Okay you know you're in Las Vegas, but it really is impressive.
While I thought the Bellagio was the most opulent of the hotels in Vegas, I certainly thought the Venetian was the most interesting.

My favourite thing about the Venetian was the ceilings inside make it look like day time and they can bring the lights down to represent evening. The clouds also look like they are moving when you walk down the streets inside - great illusions!

Enjoyed your page. Am starting to plan another trip to LV (with my 21-year-old son) so am starting to lay plans! Loved the Paris buffet for breakfast.

Nice page! Vegas is fantastic - at least for a weekend trip. You're right about the Venetian. It is gorgeous complex.
