I have heard people criticise the country of America and the people who live in it, but if you get the opportunity to visit an area like Yosemite then all you can do is admire its beauty and appreciate the effort put in by Americans to keep its National Parks free, clean and natural.
In 1916 -- President Woodrow Wilson signed into existence a new US government agency, the National Park Service, forever changing the administration of some of the most beautiful areas in America - its national parks.
Since then one of the best exports America has given the rest of the world is its concept of a National Park.
I enjoy photography and when I was in my mid teens I bought a book titled "The Portfolios of Ansel Adams". His photography was amazing. His portfolio consisted of black and white master pieces, many taken in the Yosemite area, along with photographs from other regions.
The Merced River runs through Yosemite Valley and provides many fantastic view points and vistas.
- Pros:A beautiful, awe inspiring place. Clean, well organised and much fun!
- Cons:Some distance from anywhere else - you'll just have to stay longer!
