Adelaide Hostel Hotel: Cheap and Central
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • A short walk from the Market Street and Powell Street area BART station.

Adelaide Hostel is cheap and basic.

I used it as my base and it served me well.

It has a small kitchen and adjoining social area with a TV.

There is also free internet access via two computers.

The Alelaide website claims that the dorm rooms have a maximum of four beds - this is not true, mine had six beds and it was quite tight. There was only one sink available which was in the room.

There was a shower room on the floor with two toilets next door. This was for about 20-30 people.

I stayed in the Adelaide twice, on my second time I was placed in a room which took three people. One person in a top (single) bunk and a couple sharing the bottom (double) bunk. It's a bit cosy again and may not suit everyone. However it is cheap and clean.

Unique Qualities: The website is much flashier than the hostel itself!

You're right, a walk across Golden Gate Bridge is a must. Much better than driving. Really enjoyed your page!

Hi Martin, thanks for stopping by. Your panorama pics are stunning. Since you love brown cheese, it is time to befriend VTers who live in Norway ;-) All those cute English cottages bring back a lot of memories.
