"A hidden gem!" Salcombe by MarvintheMartian

Salcombe Travel Guide: 10 reviews and 21 photos

Salcombe really is a hidden gem.

Salcombe is a beautiful village on the South Devon coast about 10 miles from Dartmouth in the South Hams.

It is one of the most southerly parts of Devon and sits on the Salcombe Estuary. The village has a nice selection of shops from designer clothes shops to excellent ice cream.

The South and North Sands are great for sunbathing or families.

The area is ideal for anyone into boating, sailing or just messing about on the water.

If you are in the Devon area you really must visit this area or any of the South Hams villages.

How to get there

A car is easiest - although public transport is also pretty good.

This map will give you an idea of the area.
