Getting TO/AROUND: Tallinn airport ('Lennujaam' in Estonian) is a very clean, modern, small and manageable place, which makes it a pleasure to fly to and from. It is also very accommodating - shops for example are sure to be opened whenever there is flight activity even early in the morning.
Because it is so small you won't need a lot of time between check-in and getting to the gate (provided you don't have the misfortune of getting stuck in a security check). Checking in one hour before departure is usually enough.
From and to the airport is an easy ride by taxi (outside of the building - it's best to take a company taxi and not a private one; the company taxi's are waiting in a row, the private ones aren't really supposed to be there so they are passing by a bit more nervously). A ride should cost no more than about 45 to 60 krooni (3 to 4 euro). Expect a higher rate when you get to the SAS Radisson Hotel - friends of ours got charged around 80 krooni for that ride, even though the hotel is just a bit further then where we had to go (for 35 krooni, which is the minimum fare).
There's also a bus to the centre.
(I know, I know, it looks quite gloomy on the picture. That's what you get when you get a flight that early in the morning...)
