Hello and welcome to my travel homepage. I have been really slack in getting this site up and running. Most of my photos are currently at Worldisround , so until this site is finished, please check them out there. I first ventured out of Australia in August 1999, for a week long ski trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. 5 months later was the beginning of my 'big trip', 2 and half years overseas and having the best experience of my life. I began with a month in Thailand. North to Chiang Mai and trekking among the Hill-Tribes. On to Kanchanaburi and then south to the islands for some fun in the sun. |
| | Next I arrived in London for the start of a 2 year working holiday. Before settling down though I was off for 8 weeks discovering the many delights that England, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland have to offer. Then it was work work work until summer when I headed over to the continent. |
The European leg of my trip was a whirlwind, taking in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, the Chech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands. What a trip!!! From there, back to London with a broken leg (though I wasn't about to let that spoil my trip)and back to work to save save save.
| | In December 2000 I visited New York for a week, enjoying the Christmas Cheer and wonderful hospitality that the Big Apple offers. |
May 2001 took me to Egypt for 2 weeks, where I was constantly in awe. I guess that was the start of my current obsession with archeology and ancient history.
The remainder of 2001 was spent working and enjoying my time in London, which was running out. Not wanting to go home and feeling the urge to be on the move, I spent an amazing 8 weeks in Africa on the way home.
| | January to March 2002 saw me overlanding from Nairobi, up to Uganda, then down through Kenya, Tanzania, over to Zanzibar, and finally through Malawi to Zambia, where I finished my trip at Victoria Falls. |
I finally arrived home in March 2002 and have been planning future trips ever since. How is ot that the more places you get to, the longer your list gets??
In November 2003, a short 8 day break on the island of Pohnpei in The Federated States of Micronesia was enough to get the feet thoroughly itchy again.
| | I finally made it to Peru, which I had been dreaming of for years, in Sept 2004. A month in this amazing country was not enough. So now I am in the planning phase again (which I have to admit is almost as exciting as the actual travelling!!). I am off to Cambodia and Vietnam next, and after that....who knows!! |
