Utica is about 50 miles east of Syracuse and 90 miles west of Albany on the NY State Thruway and the Erie Canal. Although economically Utica has seen better times, many local residents would not trade their lifestyle for a warmer climate or more thriving economy.
The surrounding towns of New Hartford, Whitesboro, Yorkville, Clinton, NY Mills, Sauquoit and others are as much a part of the community as the city, but not often mentioned in the same breath, as they should be. |
